Understanding the Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet shows your business's financial position at a specific date. It follows the accounting equation: Assets = Liabilities + Equity. Assets include cash, receivables, and inventory. Liabilities include payables and loans. Equity is the owner's stake.

Generating the Report

To view your balance sheet:

  1. 1Go to Reports > Balance Sheet from the sidebar
  2. 2Select the 'as of' date
  3. 3The report shows total assets, total liabilities, and owner's equity
  4. 4Drill down into any account group for details
