What is an Aging Report?
Aging reports show outstanding amounts grouped by how long they've been due. They help you identify overdue invoices and prioritize collections (for receivables) or payments (for payables). Amounts are typically grouped into brackets: Current, 1-30 days, 31-60 days, 61-90 days, and 90+ days.
Accounts Receivable Aging
The receivable aging report shows how much each customer owes you and how long those amounts have been outstanding. Focus collection efforts on the oldest and largest amounts first.
Accounts Payable Aging
The payable aging report shows how much you owe each supplier and how long those amounts have been outstanding. Use this to prioritize payments and avoid late fees or strained supplier relationships.
Tip:Run aging reports weekly to stay on top of collections and avoid cash flow issues.
