Understanding Cash Flow

The Cash Flow statement tracks actual cash moving in and out of your business. Unlike P&L (which uses accrual accounting), cash flow shows when money actually enters or leaves your accounts. It's divided into three sections: Operating Activities, Investing Activities, and Financing Activities.

Generating the Report

To view your cash flow statement:

  1. 1Go to Reports > Cash Flow from the sidebar
  2. 2Select the date range
  3. 3Review cash inflows (collections, other income) and outflows (payments, expenses)
  4. 4The net change shows whether your cash position improved or declined
Tip:Monitor cash flow regularly to ensure you have enough liquidity to meet your obligations. A profitable business can still run into trouble if cash flow is poorly managed.
