Recording Damaged Inventory
When inventory is damaged, expired, or otherwise unusable, you should record it to keep your stock counts accurate:
- 1Go to Inventory > Damaged Inventory from the sidebar
- 2Click 'Record Damaged Item'
- 3Select the product from the dropdown
- 4Enter the damaged quantity
- 5Select a reason (Damaged, Expired, Lost, or Other)
- 6Add optional notes explaining the circumstances
- 7Click 'Save' to record and deduct from stock
Warning:Recording damaged inventory permanently reduces the stock quantity. This cannot be undone — to correct a mistake, create a manual stock adjustment.
Reviewing Damaged Inventory
The Damaged Inventory page shows a history of all recorded damage with dates, products, quantities, reasons, and notes. Use this to identify patterns — for instance, if a particular product has frequent damage, you may need to review storage or handling procedures.
