Default Chart of Accounts
ZentBill creates a default chart of accounts when you set up your company. It includes standard account groups: Assets (Current, Fixed), Liabilities (Current, Long-term), Income (Sales, Other), and Expenses (Cost of Goods Sold, Operating). These cover most business needs.
Customizing Accounts
To add or modify accounts:
- 1Go to Accounting > Chart of Accounts from the sidebar
- 2Browse the account tree organized by group
- 3Click 'Add Account' to create a new ledger
- 4Enter the account name, code, and parent group
- 5Select the account type (Asset, Liability, Income, Expense, Equity)
- 6Click 'Save'
Tip:Keep your chart of accounts simple. Only add new accounts when you need to track a specific category separately. Too many accounts make reporting confusing.
